Benzoyl is a chemical in the organic peroxide family. Benzoyl peroxide has long been for treating skin disorder like acne and its related conditions. It is available as a liquid and bar soaps that you can purchase on the Internet and your local stores without doctor's prescription.

Benzoyl Peroxide Lotions
Benzoyl peroxide lotions are used for treating bacterial infection in the deep skin layers and removal of excessive skin oils. Some benzoyl peroxide lotions are water based while some are oil based. You may choose any one of them depending upon your skin type. If your skin is oily, you may use water based and if its dry, you may use oil based. Oils in the lotion does not clog hair follicles, it will lubricate the skin. People using benzoyl peroxide lotions complain that it makes your skin too dry, specially in winter.
